UPDATE: Washington County girls beat North Hall for 63rd straight win

A day after being named Gatorade's Georgia Player of the Year, Allisha Gray celebrated by dropping 40 on North Hall Friday in a 68-52 win in the girls GHSA Class AAA semifinals at the Macon Coliseum.

Gray added 13 rebounds, seven steals, four assists and three blocked shots in the victory. The Lady Hawks (31-0) have won 63 straight games, and they'll look to complete their second consecutive undefeated season with a win over either Columbia or Westside-Augusta on Saturday.

The game stayed in doubt largely because of North Hall's 3-point shooting. The Trojans made 4-of-5 3-pointers to open the second half, and they were within three points with 4:42 to play in the game. They were cold thereafter and eventually missed their final four 3-point attempts.

WACO, conversely, missed its first 18 3-point attempts before Shon Kitchens made two from the same spot midway through the fourth quarter to give the Lady Hawks some breathing room after North Hall got within four with less than three minutes to play. Gray scored 11 of her 40 in the final 2:04 of the game.

The Lady Hawks forced 23 turnovers, while only turning the ball over eight times.
